Join our Creative Clubs at PVHS!
Art Club
Pleasant Valley High School's Art Club meets on Wednesdays throughout the year from 3:30 to 5:00 PM, and at additional times when we are working on a specific project. Some of the activities that students in Art Club participate in are: murals for permanent display throughout the building, individual projects in areas of interest such as clay, textiles, and sculpture, and contests and activities offered in the community, including the MidCoast Fine Arts Chalk Drawing Contest. Students involved in art classes are welcome to attend, as well as students who do not have art in their academic schedule, but would like to include an art experience in their high school adventure. If you are interested in Art Club, please contact Mrs. Peters in Room 287 or at [email protected]. |
Ceramics Club
PVHS Ceramics Club meets weekly during the school year. In this club, we experiment with large-scale building projects, such as the 6-foot-tall spartan figure we created in 2014. Every year, we hold our annual Pottery and Ice Cream Sale, in which you can purchase ice cream in a handmade ceramic bowl! We will also experiment with glazes you wouldn't normally get to work with in class, such as raku. Students in this club will get a deeper look into various clay operations and will acquire a better understanding of teamwork in commercial sculpting and pottery. This club is open to all students, 9-12, whether they are enrolled in art classes or not. If you are a student that wants to join, contact Mrs. Medenciy in Room 285! |
